FES has broad experience in organizing election monitoring in Iraq: It was the first European organization to train Iraqi election observers in 2004. In partnership with the UN, FES organized training sessions that enabled 4,500 independent Iraqi observers to monitor the first and second elections in Iraq in 2005. Subsequently, FES established a partnership with the Iraqi Democratic Future Network (IDFN) and went on to provide training to and mobilize over several thousand elections monitors for Iraqi election monitors and media observers. Since the 2010 parliamentary elections, FES and Tammuz had established a long term partnership and jointly managing election monitoring programs. FES and Tammuz has monitored the 2010, 2014 and 2018 parliamentary elections in Iraq and together conducted long term election observation projects that includes elections law, registration process, media coverage and E-Day. Moreover, FES Iraq also executed a short term election observation projects in Jordan on the Out-of-Country Voting for the 2014 and 2018 Iraqi parliamentary elections.
